(HONOLULU)- The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) and the City & County of Honolulu today received proposals from the Priority Listed Offerors for the joint P3 procurement for the Honolulu Rail Transit Project.
“We are pleased that we’ve been able to move forward on this significant next step for the rail project thanks to the hard work of so many people at both HART and the City, and that the procurement process is continuing as planned,” said HART Executive Director and CEO Andrew Robbins. “Both HART and the City look forward to reviewing the teams’ proposals over the next several weeks and awarding a P3 contract soon after the evaluation is complete.”
HART and the City earlier announced that submittals were received for RFP Part 1 of the procurement, which is generally referred to as a qualifications phase. HART and the City evaluated the submittals received.
In accordance with Hawaii procurement law, a short list of not more than 3 preferred offerors was then asked to put together proposals that include pricing and technical details of how they plan to complete the rail project to Ala Moana Center, construct the Pearl Highlands parking garage and transit center, and operate and maintain the rail system for a period of 30 years.
Proposal details and the procurement file will be made publicly available upon notice of the contract award in accordance with the state procurement code.
