HART Board Approves Fujii as Ninth Voting Member
The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation’s Board of Directors today approved the selection of local accountant Terri Fujii to fill a vacant seat on the agency’s Board.
“Terri’s background in accounting and auditing will be a vital asset to the Board as we continue to formulate policy for the Honolulu rail project,” said HART Board Chairman Don Horner.
Fujii was selected from a field of 10 candidates. A group of board members interviewed the applicants and recommended Fujii for the position at the board’s August meeting.
“I’m honored to serve on the HART Board and look forward to working on this important project. I believe my background in financial analysis will benefit HART and the community, as the project moves forward,” Fujii said.
Fujii becomes the ninth voting member of the board and will fill the remainder of term of former Board member Robert “Bobby” Bunda who stepped down earlier this summer.
Under the City Charter, HART Board members serve as part-time volunteers and are responsible for establishing policies pertaining to the construction, operation and maintenance of the rail transit system.
