HART August 2014 Financial Status Update

HART August 2014 Financial Status Update

HART CEO and Executive Director Dan Grabauskas answers community questions about rail transit.

QUESTION:
How many people are working on the rail project?

DAN GRABAUSKAS:
There are more than 1,200 people working on the rail project and we expect that number to grow as construction of the rail system progresses.
The job count includes those people working for our contractors and their many subcontractors, in addition to the HART staff. More than 60 percent of the jobs are held by local hires, and that percentage will increase as more construction work comes on line. In the coming years we anticipate there’ll be 4,000 direct rail-related jobs and another 6,000 indirectly related to the rail project.
