Airport Guideway and Stations

Transportation (HART), would like to inform area residents and businesses that construction will start soon on the Airport Guideway and Stations (AGS) segment of the Honolulu Rail Transit Project. Roadway widening along Kamehameha Highway begins August 2017 and heavy construction begins September 2017.

We invite you to attend the first Business and Community Meeting for the Airport Guideway and Stations segment. Come learn more about upcoming traffic changes, noise levels and other impacts stemming from the project along Kamehameha Highway between Aloha Stadium and the H-1 Interchange.

The Department of Health has approved a variance for Community Noise Control for night work activities related to the Airport Guideway and Stations Segment of the Honolulu Rail Transit Project.

Standard Construction Equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, soil augers, backhoes, graders, pavers, mixers, trucks, cranes, saws, generators, compressors and pumps, shall be allowed 24 hours a day during project construction.

Light Impact Equipment, such as jackhammers, pavement saws and pavement breakers, will be limited to specific night hours in accordance with DOH’s approved variance.
