About HART
What is HART?
The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) is the public transit authority responsible for the planning and construction of the rail transit system for the City and County of Honolulu. The rail system, known as Skyline, is the first fully automated, driverless urban light metro system in the United States, and represents the largest public infrastructure project Hawaiʻi’s history.
HART is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, as established in the Revised Charter of Honolulu, which is responsible for policy-making and oversight.

Our Executive Director and CEO
Lori Kahikina is the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART). Ms. Kahikina is a proud graduate of Kamehameha Schools and the University of Hawaii.

Project Status
The Overall Construction and Design Project Progress is based on the Estimate at Completion for the 2022 Recovery Plan scope to Ka‘ākaukukui (Civic Center) Station and the March 2031 Operational Readiness date.
