HART has successfully completed all Neighborhood Design Workshops for the Segment 3 stations. The Neighborhood Station Design Workshops attracted over 250 total participants, who submitted around 300 total votes on design enhancements and provided around 400 total comments.
Beginning in 2025 and concluding in June 2026, HART hosted two community workshops for each of the six Segment 3 Skyline stations as part of the station design process. Workshop attendees reviewed early station design concepts and shared feedback on architectural details, community‑inspired elements, and overall station finishes.
During the first round of workshops, HART presented the initial station plans and renderings and gathered public feedback to help guide the design direction. To ensure each station reflects community priorities and identity, HART carefully reviewed and considered all comments and suggestions for feasibility and inclusion as the designs advanced.
During the second round of workshops, HART presented updated renderings and invited attendees to provide additional feedback through interactive activities to refine the final draft designs.
Similar to the stations in Segments 1 and 2, Segment 3 stations will feature consistent systemwide design elements, including cultural-themed paving, aesthetic column treatments, interpretive signage, landscaping and other architectural features that create a cohesive Skyline experience.
The six stations in Segment 3 are:
- Mokauea (Kalihi) Station (Dillingham Boulevard and Mokauea Street)
- Niuhelewai (Honolulu Community College) Station (Dillingham Boulevard and Kokea Street)
- Kūwili (Iwilei) Station (Dillingham Boulevard and Kaʻaahi Street)
- Hōlau (Chinatown) Station (Nimitz Highway and Kekaulike Street)
- Kuloloia (Downtown) Station (Nimitz Highway and Bishop Street)
- Ka‘ākaukukui (Civic Center) Station (South Street and Halekauwila Street)
All Segment 3 stations are scheduled for completion by 2030, with passenger service beginning 2031-32
