The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) announces extended lanes closure on Nimitz Highway and Iwilei Road as part of the City Center Guideway and Stations project.

Beginning on August 18, 2025, through September 2030, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Nimitz Highway between Iwilei Road and Bishop Street Iwilei Road between North King Street and Kuwili Street
DETAILS //
One lane of Nimitz Highway in both the eastbound and westbound directions between ‘Awa Street and Bishop Street will be closed 24/7, for the duration of the City Center Guideway and Stations project through September 2030. Detours will be in place at the ‘Awa Street, Smith Street, Nu‘uanu Avenue, Bethel Street, and Fort Street intersections, as needed. In addition, Iwilei Road between Kuwili Street and North King Street, and the westbound ramp from Nimitz Highway onto Iwilei Road may be closed. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, including King Street and Beretania Street, for eastbound and westbound travel. Resident and business access will be maintained.
