The second segment of the rail system from Hālawa (Aloha Stadium) Station to Kahauiki Station (Middle Street Transit Center) is currently energized and powered by a third rail system. The third rail carries 750 volts of electricity at all times, making any contact extremely dangerous and potentially fatal.
Although stations along Segment 2 may appear complete, they remain active work zones. Entry to secured rail areas and onto the guideway is strictly prohibited for your safety.
Segment 2 is scheduled to open in 2025, pending safety certification and transfer to the City’s Department of Transportation Services (DTS).
