Jared N. Kawashima Appointed to the HART Board of Directors

The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) Board of Directors announced the appointment of Jared Kawashima to the HART Board of Directors. Kawashima was selected by the Senate President of the Hawaiʻi State Legislature, Ron Kouchi, on February 14, 2025 as a Legislative Appointee to the board. The Legislative Appointee serves until they are replaced by their designated authority.

“On behalf of HART, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Jared Kawashima to the HART Board,” said HART Executive Director and CEO Lori Kahikina, P.E., “and I look forward to working with him to continue to move this project forward.”

Kawashima brings over 30 years of legal experience as a managing partner at the law firm of Yee & Kawashima LLLP, concentrating in estate planning, trust and estate litigation, and advising trustees of various multi-employer Taft-Hartley trust funds. Kawashima holds memberships in various law, estate, and public service associations, namely, the Hawaiʻi State Bar Association, the Hawaiʻi Estate Planning Council, the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Hawaiʻi State Bar Association, the City & County of Honolulu Charter Commission, and the Hawaiʻi Campaign Spending Commission’s Blue Ribbon Advisory Committee.

The volunteer HART Board of Directors, which was established by the Revised Charter of Honolulu on July 1, 2011, is responsible for policy-making and oversight of HART.
