Traffic Update: Segment 2 – Week of August 13, 2023

There will be no travel lane closures on Friday, August 18, 2023 in observance of Statehood Day, except where noted below. All 24/7 lane closures will remain in place during this time.

 

KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY – PEARL HARBOR AREA

LOCATION: Ford Island Bridge/Salt Lake Boulevard  to Plantation Drive/Center Drive

24 Hours a Day, Seven Days a Week
Kamehameha Highway may be reduced to one lane in both the eastbound and westbound direction.

LOCATION: Radford Drive to Center Drive

Nighttime: 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., overnights Monday to Thursday
All lanes of eastbound and westbound Kamehameha Highway may be closed intermittently. Motorists will be detoured.

LOCATION: Intersections along Kamehameha Highway through the Pearl Harbor area

Nighttime: 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., overnight Monday
Through lanes and turn lanes at the Halawa Drive/Arizona Street and Kalaloa Street/Arizona Memorial Place intersections may be closed. Motorists may be detoured.

 

PEARL HARBOR INTERCHANGE

LOCATION: Nimitz Highway Off-Ramp and Joint-Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Off-Ramp to Kamehameha Highway

24 Hours a Day, Seven Days a Week
The ramp to westbound Kamehameha Highway from westbound H-1 Freeway, westbound Nimitz Highway, and JBPHH exit will be reduced to three lanes for the duration of project construction.

 

WAIWAI LOOP

LOCATION: Makai side of Waiwai Loop

Daytime: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday
Makai side of Waiwai Loop will operate via contraflow.

NIMITZ HIGHWAY

LOCATION: Main Street to Aolele Street

Daytime: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday
One lane of eastbound Nimitz Highway may be closed.

LOCATION: Nimitz Highway at Sand Island Access Road

Daytime: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday
One lane of westbound Nimitz Highway may be closed.

H-1 FREEWAY

LOCATION: H-1 Freeway Viaduct

Daytime: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday
One lane of the eastbound H-1 viaduct may be closed.

KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY/DILLINGHAM BOULEVARD

LOCATION: Middle Street at the Kamehameha Highway Intersection

24 Hours a Day, Seven Days a Week 
One lane of southbound Middle Street may be closed. Traffic may be stopped intermittently.

LOCATION: Middle Street to Laumaka Street

Nighttime: 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., overnights Sunday to Thursday
All lanes of eastbound Kamehameha Highway may be closed. Eastbound motorists traveling from Nimitz Highway or the H-1 Freeway Exit 18B may be detoured. Westbound traffic and local business access will be maintained.

LOCATION: Middle Street to Kaaahi Street

24 Hours a Day, Seven Days a Week
Kamehameha Highway and Dillingham Boulevard will be reduced to one traffic lane in both the eastbound and westbound direction between Middle Street and Kaaahi Street. Left turns will be restricted except from Alakawa Street. Access to properties will be maintained.

LOCATION: Intersections along Kamehameha Highway/Dillingham Boulevard

Nighttime: 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., overnights Monday to Thursday
The northbound and southbound through lanes and turn lanes at the intersections along Kamehameha Highway and Dillingham Boulevard may be closed. Motorists may be detoured. Cross streets include Laumaka Street, Puuhale Road, Mokauea Street, Kalihi Street, McNeill Street, Waiakamilo Road, Kohou Street, Kokea Street, Alakawa Street, and Kaaahi Street.

Intermittent lane closures may be required along eastbound and westbound Kamehameha Highway and Nimitz Highway in short sections as needed.
