HART proudly introduces its new construction safety video to educate keiki about the proper ways to safely pass through community areas with rail construction sites. The video was created as part of a Hawaii Pacific University internship project with the mission to educate elementary and intermediate school aged children.
The video features HART’s “Safety Says” character who highlights a top-10 list of construction safety tips, and presents three important animation scenarios which features two characters “Pono and Lolo” who illustrate “right and wrong” examples of dealing with construction sites.
The video was created by Hawaii Pacific University students Alayna Call, Yangxu Wu and Nicole Enos, along with their internship and faculty supervisors Dr. John Hart and Professor Quest Kennelly.
Narration in the video was voiced by Cara Cunningham, a 2020 graduate of Punahou Schools. She’s the daughter of Jai Cunningham, a Public Involvement Information Specialist at HART.
The video project was supervised by Moon Pellerin, an Information Specialist specializing in community outreach at HART.
