HART has awarded the City Center Utilities Relocation (CCUR) III construction contract to Frank V. Coluccio Construction Company, Inc (FVCCC). This phase of utility relocation work is anticipated to start in mid-June 2022. The intent of this project is to relocate both wet and dry utilities from Ka’a’ahi Street, Nimitz Highway and Halekauwila Street in advance of the City Center Guideway and Stations (CCGS) contract. Both daytime and nighttime work is anticipated with periods of 24/7 construction in select areas on an as-needed basis.
Major scope elements for utility relocations include storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water main, gas/fuel, electrical and communications infrastructure and roadway improvements. Other scope elements include traffic signal systems, street lighting and service reconnections.
Construction operations will include the mobilization and transportation of building materials and machinery, excavation, trenching, jet grouting and ground repair. This project will involve the operation of multiple construction sites operating simultaneously. This project will also require temporary closures of traffic lanes, sidewalks and on-street parking.
FVCCC will hold its first Business and Community Meeting on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 6 pm, virtually via Zoom. This meeting is open to the public and is available for pre-registration at: bit.ly/HARTPhase3
