The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) today announced that HART Executive Director and CEO Lori Kahikina, P.E., has been awarded the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI) Gold Coin of Excellence.
The award was presented to Kahikina by the chair of the CMCI Board of Governors at the recent Construction Management Association of America’s (CMAA) Construction Management Industry Honors Conference in San Francisco, California. Kahikina is only the second person to receive the gold coin honor, the highest award presented by CMCI.
“It’s an honor to receive such a prestigious award in this very competitive industry,” said Kahikina. “I’m a strong proponent of the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) designation, as it raises the quality level of our team members and in turn, the overall quality of our project and our industry in general. CCM professionals are especially important on complex projects such as ours.”
CMAA’s award program recognizes excellence in construction management practices and honors companies and individuals each year based on merit. The Coin of Excellence award specifically recognizes an exceptional individual who embodies the highest standards of professionalism and supports a culture of certification within the construction management industry.
“We are delighted to recognize Lori Kahikina for her outstanding professionalism and diligence in promoting the CMAA credentials amongst her staff and consultants,” said CMAA President and CEO, Andrea S. Rutledge, CAE. “CMCI recognizes that credentialed professionals are a high-demand commodity for all owners, but especially so in Hawaii, where staffing can be even more challenging. Ms. Kahikina’s commitment benefits the profession, owners, service providers, and the public who rely on construction managers to help deliver capital projects safely, on time, and on budget.”
CMAA is dedicated to improving the nation’s infrastructure by advancing professional construction and program management worldwide.
