Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation Works with Community Groups to Repurpose Wood from Dillingham Boulevard

The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) is pleased to announce that commemorative ‘umeke (bowls) distributed at the Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture (FestPAC) on June 16, 2024, were repurposed and crafted from the true kamani trees HART’s construction crews removed from Dillingham Boulevard in 2023 to make way for utility relocations along the construction corridor.

The Honolulu Rail System’s 20th Train Delivered

The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) announced that the 20th and final train arrived at Honolulu Harbor today. The four-car train will be transported in three shipments to the Rail Operations Center (ROC)

Honolulu and HART Sign Amended Full Funding Grant

Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi and HART Executive Director and CEO Lori Kahikina signed the Amended Full Funding Grant Agreement (FFGA) with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), unlocking the first federal funding for the Honolulu rail transit project since 2017.

All Lanes of Kohou Street Between Dillingham Boulevard and Kaumualii Street Will Be Closed

Starting today, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, ongoing construction work will require the closure of Kohou Street 24/7 between Dillingham Boulevard and Kaumualii Street. These lane closures will remain in effect until July 2024 and are necessary for safety purposes related to construction work in the area. Motorists accessing Kohou Street will be detoured, and street parking will be restricted throughout this period.
